This really is the best hot cocoa!! It’s thick and chocolaty, rich and creamy. It’s velvety and not overly sweet. It’s perfect for those cold, snowy days and super simple to make!
Let’s get started!
In a small saucepan over medium heat, pour in evaporated milk, cocoa powder, and sugar. Whisk until the milk mixture is hot and the cocoa and sugar have dissolved.






Whisk in the chocolate chips until melted.

Once the chocolate has melted, add vanilla.

Pour into your favorite mug and top with your favorite toppings, or drink as is!

The Best, Rich, Hot Cocoa Recipe
1 – 12oz/354ml can Evaporated Milk
1-1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
3 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp milk chocolate chips – we used 2 tbsp milk chocolate and 1 tbsp dark chocolate
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Toppings: whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate shavings, marshmallows and so on

Whisk in the chocolate chips until melted. Add the vanilla extract and stir. Pour into your favorite mug and top with whipped cream!
