These Shortbread Cookies are light and flaky and melt in your mouth – just as a shortbread cookie should!
Each Christmas, I give my daughters a mix-in-a-jar of something delicious! It has become a holiday tradition that my girls love. I also give them a mix for each Orthodox Christmas too. Since today is Orthodox Christmas, I thought I’d share with you what mix I am giving them.
Let’s get to it!
Layer into a 1L/quart size jar, flour, cornstarch, icing sugar (powdered sugar) , granulated sugar, salt and holiday sprinkles.

Place a seal on and ring. Place the label on top or around the jar. You can also cover the seal with festive fabric. Tie ribbon or jute around.

I always write the recipe out by hand so it’s more personal. I also date it on the back and give the directions should they choose to make the recipe again or make the mix to gift!
Sometimes I use holiday recipe cards or decorate plain recipes cards and sometimes I leave it more plain. I try to change it up a bit each year!
