These apple raisin cinnamon rolls are amazingly delicious! They’re soft and tender with a lovely cinnamon flavor and filled with apples and raisins in every bite!
Instead of putting raw apple in the cinnamon rolls, I made apple pie filling which is essentially cooked apples in cinnamon and sugar. This created the ooey gooey part of our cinnamon roll. We topped it with cream cheese frosting which was the perfect addition! The next day, heat the cinnamon roll, add a drizzle of frosting and it tastes like the amazing cinnamon rolls you get from the cinnamon bun store in the mall! So good!
I made these when my brother came over to help us with yard work and he even said they’re amazing! Your family will love them too!
Let’s get started!
Combine half the flour, salt , instant yeast and sugar in a large bowl.

Add egg, vanilla, melted butter and warmed milk.

Time to stir!

Stir, adding more flour until you get a shaggy dough. Time to knead.

Knead until no longer sticky – a little tacky is ok, but not sticky. Drizzle with oil. Cover and place in a warm place to rise for one hour.

Here’s our dough after an hour! Punch down.

Roll dough out. Spread butter over top, brown sugar and cinnamon.

Soak raisins in hot water for 10 minutes. Drain. Spread apple pie filling over top and raisins.

Roll into a log. Pinch end. Slice into 10 to 12 rolls.

Let rise for 30 minutes.

Bake at 350F for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Let cool 5 minutes before flipping into parchment.

Here’s the cinnamon buns.

Look at that ooey gooey yumminess!!

Serve warm with a drizzle of cream cheese frosting.
