This vanilla syrup is creamy and has a lovely vanilla flavor. It’s sweet without being overly sweet and is perfect for atop pancakes or even drizzled in your morning tea or coffee.
Let’s get started!

In a saucepan, whisk together the water, sugar and cornstarch together.

Bring to a boil. Stir often.

Cook until thick, stirring constantly, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Once thickened, add butter, salt and vanilla.

Stir until butter is melted.

Add cream, stir well and remove from heat.


Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Syrup will be very hot.

Pour into a jar or pitcher to serve. Store leftovers in the fridge.

This syrup tastes so much better the next day!! It’s fabulous on pancakes or waffles!

1-1/2 cups water

1 tbsp vanilla
1/4 cup cream

Store extra syrup in a jar in the fridge.
