It’s Day 4 of the 5 Days of Christmas Gifts l. Today’s gift is homemade burger seasoning. This is one of our favorite seasonings because it’s full of flavor!
This seasoning is great for homemade bbq sauce, burgers and it’s also great on chicken, ribs, roast and even vegetables!
Let’s get started!
Here’s all the seasonings we are using.

Combine seasonings and mix well.

Spoon seasonings into a 125ml/half-pint jar. Wrap with jute or ribbon and attach label.

To make the burgers, dump seasonings into one pound of ground beef. You can use all the spice like we did or one to two spoons of seasoning. It’s up to you. To the ground beef, I also added 1 tbsp flour, 6 saltines and enough milk to dampen the crackers. Mix well. Shape into patties. Let marinate for 20 minutes. Grill, fry or cook in oven.

Since it’s -20C/-4F I decided to cook the burgers in the oven. I cooked them until browned on one side, about 45 minutes then I flipped them and cooked until browned. I flipped the burgers again, put sauce on and cooked a bit in the oven and then flipped and put sauce on the other side. We like our burgers well done, but cook them to your liking!
For the sauce, I combined Catsup we made using a recipe from 1846 with 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp brown sugar, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp oregano, fresh cracked pepper, pinch of cayenne and pinch of dried dill. It was excellent!
I served the burgers on homemade buns and we all topped our burgers with our favorite toppings.

This is a great gift to those who love to grill!
